On November 23, 2019, activists took the field right after halftime at the annual Harvard Yale Game in a surprise protest of the two schools’ endowment decisions. In particular, the organizers focused on climate justice, though others carried signs calling for divestment from Puerto Rican debt and objecting to Yale faculty’s involvement in the surveillance of Uyghurs in China. Police eventually disbanded protestors and arrested several of the organizers.

Divest Harvard estimated that at the protest’s peak there were over 150 students, alumni, and faculty on the field.
